Sat Jun 13 House of Waine – Nairobi, Kenya
Arrive Nairobi at 6:10 pm. We will be met upon arrival and transferred to Langata, Nairobi’s famous old colonial suburb where Karen Blixen once had her farm “in Africa” to stay at House of Waine.

Sun Jun 14 – Tue Jun 16 Amboseli Porini Camp – Selenkay Conservation Area
Amboseli Porini Camp is located in the Selenkay Conservation Area, a 15,000-acre private game reserve within a vast tract of land owned by the Kisonko clan of the Maasai people. The Conservancy is an important dispersal area for wildlife moving in and out of Amboseli and holds a wide diversity of species. In addition to the better-known big game like elephant, lion, cheetah, giraffe and zebra, there are several less common species such as caracal, African wildcat, civet, gerenuk, lesser kudu and striped hyena.

Wed Jun 17 – Fri Jun 19 Lewa Downs – Wilderness Trails
Depart from Amboseli this morning on the scheduled flight back to Nairobi Wilson. Connect onto the scheduled flight to Lewa Downs, a 55,000-acre rhino breeding sanctuary just north of the Equator, over -looked by 17,000 ft Mt Kenya.
Lewa Downs is home to large numbers of the unique Northern species such as grevy zebra, reticulated giraffe, and somali ostrich in addition to elephant, rhino, lion, and leopard.

Sat Jun 20 – Sun Jun 21 Camel Trek with Charlie Wheeler
We will meet Charlie Wheeler, our guide, on Lewa. Walking alongside a train of camels and their traditional Samburu herders, we will trek through the Northern frontier district on the community lands, where we will witness life continuing as it has done for hundreds of years.

Mon Jun 22 – Tue Jun 23 Tassia Lodge
Tassia Lodge, which looks out over the Northern Frontier District towards Samburu, Shaba and the sacred Lolokwe Mountain. At Tassia Lodge we will be hosted by Martin Wheeler and his girlfriend Antonia Hall and team of Mukogodo (Laikipia) Maasai from Lekurruki Community Conservation Group Ranch. Wed Jun 24 – Fri Jun 26 Rekero Tented Camp – Maasai Mara
This semi permanent camp evolves annually; a compromise between the old and the modern, tents are new and extremely comfortable with flushing loo and safari bucket shower enclosed in the rear of each tent. Rekero tented camp is located in a beautiful setting on the banks of the Talek River in an area visited by few other tourists. Our hosts have lived in the area for years and have close relations with the local Maasai people who will introduce us to their culture.
